Planning a family vacation can take a lot of time and careful consideration. When you have different people to please during the vacation, you have to keep what they want, like and need in mind, as well as everyone else's needs, wants and desires—you have to please everyone on your budget. How can you make everyone happy without blowing your vacation budget? Here, you'll find a few tips to help you do just that.

Do you have a destination in mind?

Deciding on the destination can be one of the biggest issues. You may have one that loves the beaches, one that loves the mountains, and one that just loves to sit around wherever he or she is and play video games. So, what do you want out of your family vacation? You have to think of yourself a bit during the planning process or you may end up more miserable than anyone on the trip.

Choose the destination first. Once you know where you want to go, you'll be able to begin looking for things for each member of the family to do and enjoy during your stay. Before you count out any destination, search the web for events and entertainment in the area—you may find some great things to do in some less-known areas which could result in great family times without huge crowds and expensive parks.

Can your family survive in a small hotel room?

The accommodations will likely set the tone of the vacation—if you're all crammed into a tiny hotel room with uncomfortable beds, everyone will probably be crankier than they should on a vacation.

When looking for a hotel for your family, consider getting adjoining rooms or a suite for you all to fit in comfortably. You may save some money by cramming everyone into a small room, but it will not do anyone any good to be on top of each other during what's supposed to be a fun, relaxing trip for the family to enjoy each other.

Do some looking online for the best places to stay on the southern Oregon coast. Then, take a minute and call the hotel to discuss your family's needs and desires. They may have a better room at a great rate if you call—when looking online, all of the rooms available may not be visible through the searches.

Get planning today and hopefully when the time comes to take the trip, everyone will be excited and it will all go as pleasantly as you hope today.
